Literally hundreds of students, of all ages, have fulfilled their musical ambitions under Debbie's tutorage, achieving ABRSM and Trinity College graded examinations in addition to preparing for music college and University auditions and GCSE or A' level performances. Since 2001, she has taught in many schools across Berkshire, both independently and through the local music service. Debbie taught at the prestigious Wycombe Abbey School for fifteen years and also at Reading University as a part of the BA Ed course. She has delivered music teacher training courses for classroom teachers and been involved in numerous widening opportunities projects.
In addition to teaching the classical guitar, she tutors composition and music theory and runs creative music workshops which are tailored to be suitable for any age range from 7 years old upwards.
During 2020 Debbie transferred her teaching on-line and was delighted to continue to support and encourage her pupils with their playing throughout both lockdowns. She is now able to offer both in person and on-line tuition. This has allowed her to reach students from across the United Kingdom and beyond. The flexibility of this option enables adults, who have long wished to learn to play guitar, to fit a lesson into their weekly schedule.
Debbie is a full member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and has up to date personal DBS disclosure.
